The Bills have offered the job to the former Jets head coach, Rex Ryan, and all that remains are the final negotiations of the contract details.  The Pegulas, the new owners who bought the team from the estate of Hall of Fame owner Ralph Wilson in October, were involved in all the interviews, many of them done at their South Florida home.

Ryan is a big name, known for his expertise on defense, something the Bills do not lack int. He has a big personality, and gets 100% behind his players (see his Sanchez tattoo, for proof of this!).  But, the Bills have a quarterback situation that is in limbo at best, and non-existent at worst. Ryan is making the switch from Geno Smith, who may have helped ruin his tenure with the Jets, to EJ Manuel, who, now former Bills coach, Doug Marrone benched after just four games this season & replaced by Kyle Orton (who also took an unceremonious exit to re-retire).

Meanwhile, Doug Marrone, who opted out of his contract (vs. being fired before his contract ended?) is still looking for work.  If he isn’t offered another head coaching job, he may have a consulting offer from the Houston Texans.   Though his exit from the Bills has recently shed light on his less then favorable character, there are still a lot of head coaching jobs open, as the Bills are the first to fill this position out of the group of coach-less teams this season.

Now, what to do about that pesky QB issue?
